It is the policy of the Putrajaya Corporation to manage the lake in order to ensure its aesthetics viability, sustain good water quality while providing different recreational uses, including primary and secondary water contact activities..For that reason, the management of Putrajaya Wetland is an integrated part of the overall management of the lake and its catchment and cannot be viewed separately from it.
The Management Objectives
The objectives of Putrajaya Lake and Wetland management are to:
ensure the water quality in the
lake meets certain quality standard (The Putrajaya Lake Water
Quality Standards), which allow it to be used for recreational
and suitable for body contact;
achieve high level of the
conservation and protect the green and open space resources (biodiversity)
of the lake and wetland - attractive to wildlife and enhancing
eco-tourism;
coordinate and control
the activities, enforcement and programs for its operations;
manage the usage of the
lake and wetland as a recreational and sporting place which promotes
healthy activities;
manage all structural components,
facilities, data and other assets and information to be used for
other management decisions related to the urban environment and
ecology
promote public awareness
on the importance of lake and
wetland in relation to the healthy living environment.
